Comm Port & Power Channel Reference¶
This page maps the CPF's COM port numbers to instruments and power channels, as assigned in the firmware. Use this as a reference when working with the com or pow commands in factory mode.
Native UART Ports (COM1–COM6)¶
These ports are wired directly to the G400S SOM's hardware UARTs.

I²C-Bridged UART Ports (COM7–COM12)¶
These ports are implemented via Exar I²C UART bridge chips on the Instrument Slot Board (ISB) expansion slots. COM7–COM9 map to ISB Slot 3 (connector J2); COM10–COM12 map to ISB Slot 4 (connector J4). Each group of three shares a single Exar chip.

These instruments communicate over I²C directly and do not use a COM port number.
