09-December-2003 Seafloor Mapping AUV Meeting Surface Commons 10:00-10:30 Four of us got together this morning to go over status for the Seafloor Mapping AUV project - 200107. Rich: -Working on distilling the 60 messages that are implemented in Bluefin's AComms driver down to the ones that are relevant for us. -Will have the modem squawking from the MVC stack by next week. Farley: -PSA916 and FastCat CTD are attached to the nose section. The manual for the CTD says that the instrument needs to be oriented in a certain roll angle which we are violating. We don't believe the roll offset will affect the readings. -Still need to modify the front nose section for the latch -Nose foam is "in-transit". Should be here "this week." -Access panel needs to be cut in the nose section. -Support rings need to be made for the mid-section mounting rails. Mike Parker will be doing the work on the waterjet soon. Material is here. Rob: -Will start working on the Kearfott integration on the bench later this week. Mark: -Seacon is molding connectors onto four bus cables. We should have those here early next week. -Power board is still being designed. Andy reported that the design of the lifting beam is slipping behind schedule, especially since he will be traveling much this month. Farley volunteered to help with the drawings to get it done soon.
