Hi Hans,

 

Thanks for sending the crane quote. Upon review, the best way forward is for MBARI to purchase the crane, controls, winch, base and HPU from Pine hill. While the crane is more expensive, their existing base and HPU designs are less expensive. Coupled with the quicker delivery, it makes sense to go that route.

 

What we can offer:

 

A)      Capture head, with integral latch, as described in section 3 of our proposal, at a price of $60,300 CDN, which includes design and fabrication.  

 

B)      Modifications to the crane to accept the capture head, and route the latch release lanyard back to the operator. Price of $8640 CDN.

 

C)      storage container, as described in section 8 of our proposal, for $44,020 CDN, which includes layout work to incorporate all the system components and the necessary support brackets. 

 

-          Used standard ISO 20ft Flatrack w/forkpockets

-          The height is extended to 9-6” with ISO corner castings

-          Removable top structure

o        Design to fit on a fixed end 20ft flatrack

o        Bolted connection w/ weather gasket

o        Lifting lugs 

o        Blasted to SP-6 and painted two coat paint (Primer and Polyurethane)

-          100T plate located between side rails to accept your crane

-          The flat-rack is to be re-furbished (SP-6 and painted two coat paint (Primer and Polyurethane))

-          Modified to accept the removable cover

-          The structure can be lifted by four top corners vertically as an ISO container

-          1 personnel door at one end of the module

 

There is still concern that the crane base may be too large to fit within the container. If so, it will be shipped outside of the box.

 

D)      Cable assembly, including the custom termination that interfaces with the load latch in the capture head, for $ 3,240 CDN

 

I assume that the crane would be drop shipped to our facility then the system shipped out to California upon completion?

 

Other additional work that you may wish to consider includes: layout/assembly drawings, mobilization/demobilization instructions, any load case evaluation for the Palfinger crane, reactions for the crane base supplied by Pinehill, any system-level testing at our facility.
