Based on a brief conversation between Hans and Ralph, we are guessing that your damaged transceiver will required a new transducer face (640-5820-SP) Price $9,563. We have this part on the shelf in Houston. Estimated repair time is one day. This is all contingent on the head having no other damage. I have just been informed that I also have a slightly used (i.e. scuffed) transducer face. It works fine. I can offer at 20% discount on this used part. Price of USED transducer face $7,650. Upgrade dimona system to ver 6.05. This upgrade would allow the system to use either an analog or a digital transceiver head. Your current dimona system would require a new CPU 7784-059-A3 and other various bits. Price of CPU is $15,112, other various bits are FOC. Sonardyne encourage this upgrade and will therefore offer a 20% discount on the upgrade. Discounted price $12,090. Sonardyne are confident that MBARI could preform this upgrade themselves with some assistance from us. Details and instructions would come from Ralph. We have this board on the shelf in Houston. Rental of a used analog head to MBARI would be $115 / day. Used transceiver currently in the tank in Houston. Rental of a USBL dongle for the time it takes to repair your analog transceiver head $115 / day. Please give me a shout once you have digested the above information.
