Linear dimension Procedure Creates the linear dimension lines and text as required by the drafting standards that you specified in the Dimensioning Parameters forms. Linear dimensioning enables you to add standard linear dimensions of elements or between two user-defined points in a layout. These dimensions can be horizontal, vertical, or at an angle. The dimension text that the editor adds automatically specifies the distance between the points you chose. You can override the automatic dimension value by entering a new value in the Value box on the Options tab, before you choose the location for the text.
