Subject: Li-ion batteries Date: Fri, 19 Apr 2002 16:24:30 -0400 From: "Bob Hellen" To: Hans, We are still looking at alternative packaging approaches. Among other options, we are evaluating the benefits, if any, of using smaller modules and/or smaller cells. I'll be able to let you know how much more energy we can fit into your sphere by the middle of next week. I left you a voice mail message on the ROM price for a battery ($18K to $22K). I let you know that we are trying to avoid any - or at least minimize- any non-recurring engineering costs. One area which may require some non-recurring engineering is the electronics. Earlier, you had expressed an interest in what the electronics would look like. Attached is some information on our baseline design. For your particular application we've assumed that the board powered by an external DC source. Please let me know if that assumption is not correct. If you need any addtional information, we'll be happy to provide it. Thanks for your interest. Sincerely, Bob NOTICE: Unless expressly stated otherwise, this message is confidential and may be privileged. It is intended for the addressee(s) only.
