INSTRUMENT/PROGRAM AFFECTED: All narrowband ADCPs. DESCRIPTION: The urethane coating on the transducer faces sometimes shrinks and pulls away from the edge of the transducer cup. If this occurs, a leak may develop risking the entire system. SOLUTION/ACTION: Inspect the transducer before and after deployments for signs that the urethane may be shrinking or pulling away from the edges of the cup. If you have this problem, call RDI. RDI has developed a urethane ring that reduces this problem. ==============================================================================
