# Data snapshot capability

-paull: statistical summary could help to locate bins of interest from oversampled data (most of data is not of interest, we are -oversampling to capture ephemeral events)
-what instruments are important to snapshot in 10 min statistical bins? potentially all...optical/hyperspectral, acoustic...
- may want to focus on snapshots all around, using them to know when to occasionally return large chunks of data
- 90-95% of data is not of interest
- don't want to let $6500 telemetry cost limit us too much...

# Telemetry and storage budget
* need to refine overhead estimates; target 300 kBytes/hour telemetry
* need to add second surface node, 20 m node to budget
- would it reduce overhead to do telemetry only during daytime? (people only able to look at data then)
