Known Issues

Disk space requirements for installing Standard 7 Service Pack 1 as an update to an existing image will vary based on the size of the existing image. For 32-bit images, the requirement will be between 1.8GB for a minimal image and up to 4GB for a full image. For 64-bit images, the requirement will be between 3GB for a minimal image and up to 10GB for a full image.

A minimum of 2GB of memory is recommended to update an existing image for both 32-bit and 64-bit images.

If you perform a custom installation of Standard 7 Service Pack 1 and choose either the x86 Distribution Share and/or the AMD64 Distribution Share features as part of your installation, the RTM media for Standard 7 will be required in order to complete the installation. This applies to both new installations and upgrades.

You can only install Standard 7 Service Pack 1 to a Windows Embedded Standard 7 image when the image is online. Standard 7 Service Pack 1 does not support offline installation.

If you install Standard 7 Service Pack 1 Toolkit by using distribution shares other than the x86 SP1 distribution share, those distribution shares must be installed from a local resource, such as a hard disk drive or CD drive.

When using the driver mapping functionalities of either Image Configuration Editor or Image Builder Wizard, drivers may not be properly matched with devices if both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the driver have been placed in the distribution share.

If you have placed both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of your driver in the distribution share but then find that neither driver is matched to your device, remove the incorrect architecture from the distribution share, restart Image Configuration Editor and attempt an out-of-box match again.

If an answer file is created by using Image Configuration Editor and a Standard 7 Service Pack 1 distribution share, use of the Licensing Assessment Tool is not supported.

Windows Embedded Developer Update 1.0 does not support checking for or downloading updates for Standard 7 Service Pack 1 distribution shares. Windows Embedded Developer Update 1.1 is available to address this issue.
