Digiflex®
DriveSuite is free software for use in commissioning and setup of Advanced
Motion Controls Digiflex®
digital drives. DriveSuite
provides the ability to set drive limits, tune the current and velocity
control loops, and assign automated functions to drive events.
The fully functional two-channel oscilloscope eases system setup
and assessment.

Velocity
Control Loop: Use of encoder, resolver, or tachometer (model
dependant) as feedback to control motor velocity. The velocity
control loop utilizes proportional, integral, derivative, and feed
forward gains along with a configurable low-pass velocity feedback
filter.

Velocity
Event Control: Now available in the Drive Control
window is programmable functions for At Velocity, Velocity Following
Error, and Positive and Negative Velocity Limits.

Enhanced
Auto Commutation: Auto Commutation results are compared with
information in the Motor Data window. In the event of a
discrepancy between Auto Commutation data and Motor Data, the user is
given the opportunity to either edit the motor data or to override the
Auto Commutation and utilize the values entered in Motor Data.

Auto
Commutation not required: The motor may be commutated
utilizing the motor and feedback data. In this case, proper
phasing of the motor is determined by testing motor rotation in each
direction while cycling through all six possible motor phase
combinations. If Encoder Only feedback is used, synchronization
will not be available.

Wiring
Designations scratch pad for single color, multi-color, or
numbered wires is available in the Motor Data window for the feedback
and motor phase wires.

Analog
Motor Temperature Limits can be assigned and configured in General
Drive Configuration and Drive Control.

Enhanced
Shunt Regulator Control: Support for internal only, external
only, or dual shunts is available (model dependant). User can enter resistance,
power rating, and inductance for external shunt resistor. The
drive utilizes DC bus measurement to maximize the power dissipation of
the shunt resistor.

Power
Board analog temperature measurement: (model dependant)
Drive over-temperature disable and re-enable limits and actions are
user configurable within the drive limits.

Enhanced
Phase Detection: (Encoder only commutation) Upon
completion of the phase detection function, the drive will apply
current at the Continuous Current setting to lock the rotor to
the detected location. Current is removed when the Phase Detect
digital input is cleared.

Blank
Project default settings are directly compatible with Advanced
Motion Controls' SE series of sinusoidal analog amplifiers.

Support
files optimized to drastically reduce the size of the DriveSuite
installation program.

The
latest Firmware files are now distributed with the setup software.

Indication
of Analog Input scaling in I/O Configuration is unaltered when
<tab> is pressed.

Issues

Firmware
Upgrades must be performed at a communications rate of 9600 baud
and drive address of 63.
Higher connection rates or an improper drive address will result in the drive being unusable
and will need to be returned to Advanced Motion Controls.

User
Units are not yet implemented.

Changing
the event action assigned to an event (Drive Control) while
the event is still active will lock the action. The locked action will not be displayed in Drive Status.
The drive must be restarted to clear the action.

Internal
Shunt Resistor specifications (General Drive
Configuration/Voltage Limits) are "grayed out" even
though the Shunt Regulator Enabled check box has been selected.

Motor
Data from previous versions of DriveSuite are not usable. Motor Data must be reentered.

Phase
Detect completion is not indicated in Drive Status.

With
motor type selected to Brush,
the index check box clears every time the Motor Data window is closed.
The index channel is not actively used by DR100 Series Digiflex®
drives when controlling a brush type motor.

When
uploading from a drive in velocity mode at 9600 baud, the block
diagram will not indicate an active velocity loop. Contrary to
the indication, the velocity loop is active. This effect does
not occur when uploading at other rates.
