Digiflex^® DriveSuite v 3.1.3 Installation Notes

This document provides important information on the installation of the Digiflex^® DriveSuite setup software and upgrade of drive firmware.

Requirements

1. Windows operating system (Win 3.x, 95, 98 NT, 2000, XP)

2. 9MB hard drive space

3. Available COM port (COM 1, 2, 3, or 4)

4. SynqNet™ Interface Card (for DQ111 Series)

Installation

1. Uninstall any previous version of DriveSuite via the Control Panel Add/Remove Programs.  After uninstalling the previous release, rename the existing "Program Files\AMC Software" directory to "OLD AMC Software".

2. Extract all files from the .zip file to a local directory.

3. Double click on AMC_DriveSuite.exe to begin the installation program.  Follow onscreen instructions.

Firmware Upgrade

1. Connect to a drive and upload parameters in accordance with the DriveSuite Basic Startup Guide.

2. If desired, increase the communications baud rate in accordance with the DriveSuite Basic Startup Guide.

3. Select Communication --> Store or click the Store Settings icon to store drive parameters to nonvolatile memory.

4. Select Communication --> Firmware from the Menu Bar.

5. Click Browse and select the appropriate firmware file for upgrade (see chart below to select the appropriate firmware file).

6. Click Start Firmware Download to begin upgrade.

7. When upgrade is complete, click OK.  Please note that the program may pause for up to 20 seconds before returning to the main Block Diagram.

8. Read the Release_notes.htm file (extracted from the .zip file) to learn more about new drive features.
