scan_sbe file
This utility scans header files from data collected and processed with package SEASOFT for SeaBird CTD. It reports which files contain bad header data. These have to be edited and corrected. When scanning is error free, these data can be loaded into a CODAS database with load_sbe(1). See the manual page of this utility for more information about the allowed syntax of SBE header files.
The only parameter to this utility is a file containing the list of header files to scan successively. These are the files with suffix hdr. However, it is also possible to give a list of other files, such as data or bottle, as scan_sbe can build the name of header files from the base name and path of listed files.
