6/25/2014 As you can see from the progress report, you're moving well, but more south than NOMAN. It's a hard decision right now whether to get some distance to the south, or to turn west and stay on the track of the others. Going south adds distance, but could result in a better tailwind over the next two weeks. Let me analyze the upcoming weather and see if that gives any hints. Stay tuned for another txt in an hour or so. Wx forcast is for more of the same. You are moving across the HP ridge, more and more east winds will result, a bit stronger to the S., gradual change. Your current course is bringing you S. of NOMANs track, this adds dist but could put you in better winds in a week. This tradeoff is hard to predict. I believe you are making a course of 200mag. I'd try to come to 215 mag if poss, this will keep you moving south of NOMAN but stem the loss of miles towards HI Course to HI is 245 mag, NOMAN is moving directly at it, slower than you and potentially close to the light winds to the north. You can decide if you should follow NM and try to catch them by rowing faster, or if you need to gamble and look for more favorable wind to the south. 215 Magnetic splits the difference.
