7/19/2017 - We performed our first pressure drop test on a 100micron filter with the siphon hose from the tank. We used the differential pressure sensor and the paddlewheel sensor. The first results looked good but the pressure drop across the filter became lower at higher flow rates. The theory is that the pressure taps just up-stream and downstream of the filter were affected by a different flow field after the filter, due to the filter, or the step after the filter, etc. To check this we moved the pressure taps upstream and downstream to the sections of PVC pipe. At that location the pressure drop versus flow was at least monotonic and the results are in "PressuresDropTest1.m". we are going to modify the system to have the same size pipe upstream and downstream so the flow in the tube by the pressure port is nominally at the same speed (currently it's a 1.5" sch 40 pipe upstream, and a 2" sch 80 pipe downstream. We are also going to modify the pressure taps so they are tubes that point upstream right in the center of the tube.
