DESCRIPTIONpowerDownPort portName
The powerDownPort utility is used to power down and isolate an instrument port that does not have an instrument service running on it. It can be used in conjunction with powerUpPort to communicate directly with an instrument using a third party communications utility (e.g. minicom) while the SIAM application is running. The powerUpPort and powerDown utilities can also be used with the puck utilities to re-write a puck in system while the application is running. The utility is used as follows,ENVIRONMENT$ powerDownPort sidearm6 /dev/ttySX3or$ powerDownPort localhost 3This utility may be run on the same host as the node, or on any networked host from which the node host is accessible.
