-- Seabird CTD seems dependent on state of it's internal batteries for successful measurements, even when powered externally. It's been observed that the CTD stops measurements after 20seconds on "Low battery" if it's internal batts are depleted, even if powered externally. Either this should be addressed or the external voltage should be raised to be sure external batteries are drained first. -- Number of files is exceeded long before batteries are depleted. There needs to be a facility for the shore station to delete files, or better, files successfully uploaded to the next computer in the chain should be deleted locally, may require a good checksum arrangement. -- Reset or watchdog situation needs attention. These situations where the controllers run away and run the CTD continously needs to be rectified. -- Filesize limit needs to be addressed, compression of the datafiles also sensible. -- The inductive modem should use smaller blocksizes. It looks possible that noise on the line occasionally causes a significant delay in the inductive upload, conceivably the inductive modem is having to resend the entire 30k buffer several times. Smaller block sizes might make this more robust. -- A connection status history for the buoy telemetry can might be good. -- An ability to modify the sample schedule over the radio link would be great.
