Rover Test at Station M Aboard Atlantis II (4/26/95 - 4/28/95)

The Rover was deployed the evening of the 26th and programmed for a delay
to activate at 1030 on the 27th.  The Rover was observed from Alvin making
two turns/transits successfully.  The rack lowered, but hit the bottom limit
switch as the sediment was too hard for the chambers.  The rack returned to
the top position and stopped.

The next day, the Rover was released with the modified Interocean command
box (13.5KHz unit).  The ballast was dropped 7 min. after activation.
The central controller should have returned in a sleep state, but was found
to have reset to the main menu.  I modified the software so that it would
display the first 500 data records in pseudo-static RAM from the data menu.  
This worked and the data was stored in ROVDAT1.  The data shows that the
Rover tilted up about 4 degrees at the time the rack hit the lower limit.

The Argos transmitter functioned properly at the end of the deployment.
