12-14-95 Rover released at 0904L (14KHz unit). Surface at 1121L. No visible damage on Rover equipment. Central controller data (rovdat0.txt) shows that the first station was successful, however the Rover was unable to complete a turn after the first station and the program terminated. The first station benthic chamber data for the in-chamber electrode looks reasonable, while the flow-cell electrode data is somewhat erratic. The problem may be different flow speeds for the ambient and chamber valve settings. The starboard chamber has a sticky stir bar, but the average stir speed was still 9 RPM. The current meter vane sensor data appears OK, but the rotor data is all zero because the rotor sensor failed on a previous deployment. Two connectors leaked during the deployment. The lower battery housing connector leaked and corroded the pins. The valve motor connector (P3) on the port benthic controller leaked due to the face O-ring extruding into a crack at the edge of the insert. Both video cameras activated OK, but both only recorded video while the rack motor was off. This may be because the battery voltage was too low while the rack motor and flood lights were on at the same time. The port video tape has good video at 13:40. The starboard video tape has good video at 9:50.
