When starting a close-out of a vehicle, create a new document from Add Document "Use Form: Close Out Checklist Short" Document Name: I've been naming them as "Close: [Vehicle name] [yyyymmdd]" ("Close: Daphne 20190326") **** Reason vehicle was opened and resolution: Why was it opened, and what was done to fix/change/upgrade the issue. Since you'll be more involved than I am, you'll have a better idea as to why it was opened. **** Check moisture indicators; replace as needed: Make sure the sponges on the connectors are dry fore and aft. If oily, replace the sponge. **** Check battery pack fuses...: Two fuses in front of pack, and two fuses in back. As specified on checklist, top fuse is to be 25A, and bottom is 15A. **** Make sure all systems are working...: Have caught things here before. Have the Bs (Ben, Brian, Brett) let you know if all vehicle and instrument systems are actually functioning before you close it up. At least until you can check them on your own which may already be happening... **** Check for ground faults: Type 'gfscan' to run ground fault scan. Returned values should all be less than .03mA **** Remove jumpers for LED indicators from motherboard and load control boards: LCBs have jumpers on both port and starboard sides. Only one jumper on motherboard. I usually try to make that a red one so it sticks out. **** Make sure power connectors are connected. Sometimes during testing, shore power or batteries are disconnected... **** Make sure EZ servo connectors are on all the way. No locking tab on these connectors. Five boards total: four aft for thruster buoyancy, elevator, rudder, and one fwd for mass shifter. **** Give it a once over to see if there are other unplugged connectors or loose wires. Plug them in if needed, or just note them. **** Record fwd and aft limit for mass shifter. Particularly if the battery has been replaced or other work done in that area. To read mass shifter positions that are currently entered into vehicle: get verticalcontrol.masspositionlimitfwd get verticalcontrol.masspositionlimitaft To read current mass position: get platform_mass_position mm report m platform_mass_position mm to rehome: failc h massservo (will return to starting position once homed) To move mass to certain positions: maintain control verticalcontrol.masspostionaction '#' mm [vehicle moves mass to absolute position # mm. Positive number moves forward of 0 position on flag and negative moves aft of 0 position] **** Compare load control boards to configuration sheet. Note discrepancies, or install correct boards. **** Record needle position of pressure switch (or actual tested switch setting if that was done) **** Test leak detectors and burn wire. While observing voltage on burn wire for drop weight, short the contacts on the fwd leak detector. Should see batt voltage on DMM, and critical WATER DETECTED alarm on screen. After you confirm this, restart the application by typing 'restart app' and repeat the process for the aft detector. (Order doesn't matter, fwd or aft) Type 'restart app' after testing both sensors, and continue... **** Photos of everything Particularly if there is new or unique equipment installed. **** Blow off vehicle to remove dust and other bits that may have settled or been dropped. **** Inspect/clean/replace orings as needed. **** Install desiccant **** Install housing **** Pull vacuum and backfill with N2. Repeat this three times. On final time, leave on vacuum for 20-30min, and observe gauge to see if there are any gross changes in pressure. Check humidity and pressure as detected by the vehicle, and note them after "Initial" pressure and humidty on the checklist. (I also usually do this prior to closing the vehicle just to make sure that the sensors are returning reasonable values to start with) get onboard.humidity get onboard.pressure psi If no apparent leak is detected by the gauge, record the "20min" pressure and humidity values on the checklist, then remove the vacuum/backfill system, and seal the housing with the pressure relief valve. The final internal pressure should be with about a 5 psi vacuum, so the internal pressure in psi will read approximately 10 psi. Once the vehicle is sealed at the correct pressure, record the "Test start" date/time/pressure/humidity on the checklist. If possible, check the values again after about 24hours. If the vehicle is scheduled to go to sea before 24 hours, try to record at least one more data point under "Test finish" just to make sure it's remaining steady.
