Acousonde Log File Summary - This file describes the Acousonde log files in the Data directory. Author: Rich Henthorn 1) File name conventions a) The Acousonde log file names all begin with "ALog". b) Files that contain "drift" in the name are log files from clock drift test runs. Clock drift tests are conducted by placing the Acousonde in "free capture" mode and transmitting an IR flash synchronized with a GPS pulse-per-second signal. c) File names that contain "room" are tests results run at room temperature. d) File names that contain "cold" are results from tests conducted in the cold room. e) The last 6 characters of the base file name represent the date of the test. f) File names with a ".txt" extension are raw log files downloaded from the unit. g) File names with a ".csv" extension are log files modified to comma-separated-value format. 2) .csv file format - each row represents a received IR flash event. a) Column 1 is the date/timestamp from the Acousonde. b) Column 2 is the whole number of seconds since the unit was powered-up. c) Column 3 is the fractional portion of the second in microseconds. d) Column 4 is the measured temperature. 3) Test descriptions a) ALog_006_drift_room_090416 - Drift test at room temperature, April 16th, 2009. Conducted after a disciplining clock at room temperature. b) ALog_006_drift_cold_090416 - Drift test in the cold room. Conducted immediately after the room temperature test, without re-disciplining clock in the cold room. c) ALog_006_drift_cold_090420 - Drift test in the cold room. Conducted after the unit was in the cold room over a weekend. The unit was re-disciplined before the test. d) ALog_006_drift_cold_090421 - Follow-on drift test in the cold room. Unit had not been moved. e) ALog_006_drift_cold_090422 - Follow-on drift test in the cold room. Unit had not been moved. b) ALog_006_drift_cold_090427 - Follow-on drift test in the cold room. Unit had not been moved.
