Multiple communication attempts have been made to date. Two from the John Martin in mid-June via the acoustic modem. The R/V Rachel Carson also attempted to interrogate our transponder on a line from 36.802,-121.857 to 36.793,-121.845. No valid returns were heard on the Carson but a handful of bad (i.e. yellow text) hits were noticed. 

On 6/25 Alana Sherman and I attempted to locate the BED #1 from the Moss Landing RHIB with the iUSBL hanging 2m over the side. We only recieved 4 range "hits" in the vicinity of 36.7973,-121.8561. 

Issues with this attempt:
- power supply was maxed out at 37 volts and we should be supplying 48 volts
- Need a boat with a rigid pole to enable driving while pinging instead of stop,dip,pull,drive
