Installation Notes
General
- Before V5.0.1.8 can be installed, any previous versions of the application must be uninstalled from the target PC. The installer provides an automatic mechanism for identifying and removing previous installations.
- Depending on the operating system that the application is being installed on, there are various prerequisite components that need to be installed at the same time. The installer will automatically determine which of these prerequisite components need to be installed. Depending on the component, the PC will need to be rebooted in order to continue with the next stage of the installation. In some cases, the PC may need to be rebooted two or three times to complete the installation.
- The CASIUS security key should always be used stand alone and not in parallel with any other application security key type or manufacturer.
Hardware Requirements
The following hardware requirements should be used as a guideline if CASIUS is to be installed on a computer other than the Sonardyne supplied Navigation Computer:
- Monitor and Graphics Card capable of 1024x768

- Microsoft Windows XP or Vista

Known Problems and Limitations
Installation
- It is recommended that users DO NOT connect a Parallel Printer to the parallel port with a parallel Security Key fitted.
- In the event of an installer error, generate an installation log file to send to the Sonardyne Support. This can be created by running the command 'setup.exe/V"/LV* c:\install.log" ' . However should a MSI sub-installer fail, this can be created by running the command 'msiexec.exe /i isscript.msi /l*v c:\subinstall.log' , where 'isscript.msi' is the sub-installer experiencing the error.
General
- It is recommended that only standard Windows display settings be used. Problems have been experienced with small font sizes on certain screen resolutions when CASIUS is installed on laptops.
