Full-Speed Simulator Meeting 22 April 2015 Project Labor Budget Remaining: 56% ********Recent Progress and News: * Rich has gotten the -sim (real-time sim) and -fastsim options working, as well as the flight (non simulation, real-time) version. ********Next Tasks: **All: Lab-test of the event-callback version for real-time flight on an AUV. **All: Piggyback sea trial? **All: Merge with the CVS head. * Rob: - Figure out how to synchronize and run TRN at full speed. This appears to be mostly decoupled from the QNX development. - Get CVS running on the Mac. Either install a Linux VM, or xCode, (xFree86?) * All: Massage the big three GNC tasks + simulator into a single task that runs real-time for flight, full speed for simulation. *******Questions: * Shouldn't the QNX VM take most of the host CPU during a full-speed sim? * What is the fastest machine that can run native QNX 4.25? *******Notes: Kent - Run original sim on head; results to compare to fast sim. - Devise auv-in-lab tests to validate flight code after merge, before sea-trials. Kent: Will look at test plan for CVS merge of event-callback code. Rob: Will work on how to do fast TRN. To merge our branch with the head we need to: * Finish code that triggers Nav on real-time versus sim completion. * Review changes with Hans and make a test plan. * Possibly piggy back a sea-trial. ******Overall Objectives: 1. Kent may become available the second half of this year. Afternoon meeting w/ Kent and Hans: Hans thinks that our design is probably OK, but we need to verify that the event/callback code doesn't fragment the heap or have a memory leak. This, if happening, is probably not apparent in short runs. So we need to first run a 24 hr. fast sim while monitoring Qnx sin. If that looks good, then we try a 24 hr. deck test.
