# I2MAP Acoustic Expansion Statement of Work --- Eric Martin May 5th, 2017 ## Concept Adapt a Simrad `` sonar to the existing I2MAP dorado payload. Addition of this sensor set will allow for bioacoustic studies. Adding bioacoustic data to the primarily video driven dataset collected as part of the midwater ecology timeseries will likely benefit understanding in many ways. ## Requirements 1. All components must be contained within the I2Map Payload area. 2. The sensor must be facilitate deck configuration and start/stop operation. 3. Data must be available post/dive. 4. There must be a dedicated processor to operate the software. 5. Controlling software must time synchronize pre-dive, and optimally during dive as well. 6. The acoustic system must survive the depth rating of the overall payload, `` meters. 7. Transducers cannot impact the video data. ## Mechanical Tasks 1. Bracketry design to support transducers and electronics housings. 2. Buoyancy adjustments if necessary. 3. Subsea housing design for electronics components. ## Electrical Tasks 1. Wiring into existing payload or new host connection to the AUV. 2. Dedicated housing wiring and cable design for support electronics and microprocessor controller board. 4. Support electronics design: noise immune power supplies. ## Software Tasks 1. Dorado integration tasks: time synchronization, and perhaps mission control. 2. Windows embedded system configuration and testing. 3. Storage and download facilitation. 4.
