# EyeRIS KiCAD Schematics

## Overview

This project contains  the KiCAD versions of the EyeRIS schematics. To date this includes the following:

    - EyeRIS-Strobe revA
    - EyeRIS-Strobe revB
    - EyeRIS J-Box revA
    - EyeRIS-LRAUV-Control revA

- RevB EyeRIS-Strobe PCB has been fabricated by PCBWay and delivered to MBARI
- RevA EyeRIS-LRAUV-Control is being sent out for fab

## Overview

### EyeRIS-J-Box

This is a very simple J-Box PCB for the cabled version of EyeRIS to break out the DSPL power and RS-485 dimming from the camera housing to 6 lights.

### EyeRIS-Strobe

This project implements a strobe head with many Cree XD16 LEDs to provide flash illumination for imaging on the LRAUV. All revisions use a N-series, 4-parallel string of LEDs. RevA included 56 LEDs (N=14) but was too large to fit in a ring of 10 strobe heads when mounted on the LRAUV. RevB reduced the number of LEDs to 48 (N=12) and a changed to a non-circular PCB. RevB also eliminated the indicator LEDs and revised the thermal dimmer circuit.

### EyeRIS-LRAUV-Control

This project implements the low-power system control and strobe ballast for the complete EyeRIS imaging system on the LRAUV. Additional details about the firmware are given here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/14Es2bRSudB68GUapfAR0kPSxV0X4lHueuWBqL_gjvBs/edit?usp=sharing

## KiCAD Versions

## 3D models

Project-specific 3D models are not included in this repo to save space. They are note required to generate fabrication outputs but are very handy for generating CAD models of the boards for important into Solidworks. Ask proberts@mbari.org for models and place the in the following path relative to this repo: ```../../../3DModels```
