ASV survey: 1.) A short description of what your payload/project is doing. (1) Shallow water multibeam echosounder mapping; (2) Uploading data from seafloor instruments (e.g. DAS) and transferring back to shore. 2.) How big is your payload (size and weight) (1) Sonar (8.5 kg in air, 3.5 kg in water; 35 cm by 23 cm by 23 cm); (2a) Iridium communication kit (1.7 kg in air); (2b) acoustic modem (10 kg in air, 2.7 kg in water, 14.33 cm x 7.06 cm x 4.65 cm). 3.) What are the power requirements of your payload (input voltage, max power consumed, duty cycle while out at sea): (1) 60W (10-28VDC, 110-240VAC); (2a) 1.3-10.6 W, 4 to 32 Vdc, 333 mA (operating); (2b) 20W average, 60w peak, 12 mW max @24 VDC) 4.) For how long do you need to stay out at sea for a single deployment? 8 hours minimum (ideal) 5.) How far away from Moss Landing do you need the ASV to go for your deployments? 20 km maximum 6.) Is your instrument autonomous or does it need constant remote monitoring/control? What are your bandwidth requirements for that? Autonomous; 5-20 Mbps 7.) Do you need to deploy the ASV outside of Moss Landing (e.g. take it with you for expeditions)? Ideally yes. 8.) Would you want to pilot the ASV yourself or would you want ASO to handle the piloting? Both options are good for me. The former may be useful when using the ASV outside of Moss Landing. 9.) Do you know of any particular ASV models that you think will work well for your research? I am afraid not.
