Gene,

There are two timeouts that should be implemented. The first (t1) is for acknowledging the command and the second (t2) is for acknowledging the data collection.

I’d set t1 to 3 secs and t2 to 30.

Eric is finishing integrating the MSC pH/Nitrate measurements in the CPF.  Do either of you know how long it typically takes to make a pH measurement and how long it takes to make a Nitrate measurement on an Argo float?  Basically the time from the first command send from the CPF to the MSC to the data showing up at the RS232 port.
