Example Labview code for Wireless MicroStrain Inertia-Link and 3DM-GX2 This example demonstrates the ASPP packet protocol for communicating with a Wireless Inertia-Link or 3DM-GX2. Please refer to the "3DM-GX2 Data Communications Protocol" manual for a complete description of all possible communications commands and modes. Note that this is only for wireless devices. For serial devices, see "USB-Serial Example" vi's The sample code requires Labview 7.1 or higher. To use sample code: 1. Plug your MicroStrain Wireless USB base station into a USB port on your computer. 1. Plug your Wireless Inertia-Link or 3DM-GX2 into a battery pack and turn the battery pack on. 2. Open "Read Accel and Ang Rate Wireless.vi" in LabVIEW 3. Determine the virtual COM port assigned to the Wireless Base Station using the Device Manager (in the hardware tab of the "System" control panel). The virtual COM port will be listed as a "CP210x USB to UART Bridge Controller" 4. Select the COM port assigned to the base station in the "Serial Port" drop down contro in the vi. 5. Click the "Run" arrow in the vi. Note that the Wireless base station and the Wireless Inertia-Link or 3DM-GX2 need to be on the same 802.15.4 "Channel". The channels are set to be the same at the factory (channel 18). You can use the "Inertia-Link" PC application to verify that the base station and sensor are on the same channel and communicating.
