TI: Arctic Stratospheric Ozone Loss in Winter 2002/2003 as Observed During the European VINTERSOL Campaign

AB: The first phase of the European Validation of International Satellites and Ozone Loss (VINTERSOL) program was focussed on stratospheric ozone loss and related processes and satellite validation in the 2002/2003 Arctic winter. Over the winter several measurement campaigns employing balloons, ozone sondes, aircraft, and satellite data focussed on PSC formation, halogen activation, and ozone loss processes. The talk will give an overview of the activities carried out and will highlight the major results on the formation of NAT particles, chlorine activation and partitioning, and ozone loss processes.
