AB: We have measured the CO2 content of air occluded in the Siple Dome ice core, Antarctica, formed over the last 40 thousand years. The general time series of Siple Dome CO2 follow temperature and support the other Antarctic ice CO2 records including the recent EPICA Dome C record of the last Termination. However, the Siple Dome CO2 concentrations of the last Termination and the Holocene are at certain times higher than in other Antarctic ice cores by up to 20 ppm. The processes for the excess CO2 of Siple Dome are not clear.
