AB: The Geoscience Laser Altimeter System (GLAS) is the sole instrument on the Ice, Cloud, and land Elevation Satellite (ICESat), launched in 12 January 2003. The main objective of the ICESat mission is to measure ice sheet elevations and changes in elevation through time. Secondary objectives include measurement of cloud and aerosol height profiles, land elevation and vegetation cover, and sea ice thickness. This poster provides an overview of each of the GLAS data products that will be available from the National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC) Distributed Active Archive Center (DAAC). It will include brief summaries of each product, sample images and a description of the processing steps that generate higher-level products from the lower level products. We will also provide information on how users can access GLAS data products from NSIDC. For more information about GLAS data products available from NSIDC, see: http://nsidc.org/data/icesat.
