AB: Changes in the Earth's geocenter are caused by mass redistribution of global geophysical fluids, such as the atmosphere, oceans, continental hydrology, glaciers and ice sheets. We have analyzed geocenter variations, as determined from satellite laser ranging (SLR), on a variety of timescales and compared them to excitation sources derived from various geophysical fluid models. We shall present the results of these analyses and discuss the implications of our findings.
