Surface geophysical measurements were conducted in a vast area of compacted ash deposits on the island of Dominica, West
Indies. The seismic refraction data can be modeled as a power law velocity increasing with depth to the water table.
Conversely, the electrical resistivity data fits a power law increasing in height from the water table. These two
datasets/models are combined using basic rock physics models to predict the level of saturation from the surface to the water
table. The geophysical predictions are compared to civil-engineering saturation profiles with depth.
