TI: The Viability of COADS Data Assimilation in Coupled Ocean Atmosphere Models

AB: COADS data from 1950 through 1997 are tested using the coherence squared method to determinine their suitability for data assimilation into coupled ocean / atmosphere models. The results of these tests are then compared to the least squared method to ascertain any benefits of coherence testing for data assimilation.
