AB: Recent intriguing observations from the Voyager I suggest that the spacecraft has observed phenomena associated with the near proximity of the termination shock, or possibly even the crossing of the termination shock itself. This overview will summarize briefly the nature of the shock and phenomena which might be expected to be observed in its vicinity, in order to place the recent observations and some recent ideas into context.
