We present results from a statistical study of coronal mass ejection
(CME) signatures. This study will address the often complex and
imprecise identification of CME events in the heliosphere,
particularly in terms of ejecta boundaries. CME signatures include: a
descending velocity profile, a low in situ temperature, a rotating and
elevated magnetic field, bidirectional suprathermal electrons, and
enhanced composition parameters. CMEs rarely contain all of these
signatures and the boundaries of observed signatures are rarely well
aligned. In this paper various CME signatures will be statistically
examined, both independently and in combination with one another. We
hope to more accurately define periods of CME ejecta and to better
understand the relationships between the various signatures.
