The results of investigation of the polar coronal activity using EUV data from SOHO/EIT and its relations to the magnetic
activity studied from SOHO/MDI for 1996-2002 are presented.
The observations of formation and evolution of polar coronal structures during the current activity cycle reveal close
correlations between eruptive magnetic flux, coronal topology and changes of the global magnetic field, which have
interesting implications for understanding the mechanism of the solar cycle.
