In this talk we present a review of ionospheric and magnetospheric data assimilation models which are currently in use or
under development. This is a very challenging field because of the the sparseness of data and the vastness of the volume.
Even though it is challenging, researchers have made tentative steps in the development of region and global data
assimilation models. We attempt to discuss a variety of models using different methodologies and complexities. These models
cover the ionospheric electrodynamics, radiation belts, ring current, global magnetosphere, thermosphere, and ionosphere.
