AB: NASA's Global Change Master Directory (GCMD) is best known for its offerings of Earth science data set descriptions. However, over the last two years, the GCMD has added descriptions of Earth science tools, resources, and services to the database for users to search and retrieve information. These tools are used in analyzing, processing and evaluating Earth science data sets. Users can search for tools from the following categories: data analysis and visualization, data handling, hazards management, metadata handling, models, Earth science educational resources, environmental advisory services, and information services. Through the GCMD, users are provided a direct link to these tools and services from the data set descriptions, and, where possible, a link to data sets that can be utilized with the tools. The GCMD services database is available from the GCMD homepage, http://gcmd.nasa.gov.
