AB: Norris geyser basin experienced an unexpected change in normal geyser and hot spring activity beginning July 2003. This disturbance included an increase in ground temperatures of up to $94\deg$C over a 0.1 km $^{2}$ area killing vegetation along a ~200 m long zone and prompted closure of the area to visitors. In response to these changes, a temporary seismic and geodetic monitoring network was deployed by the Yellowstone Volcano Observatory with the assistance of UNAVCO and IRIS. Data collection began in August 2003, with a dense, 0.75 km $^{2}$, array of 7 broadband seismographs and 5 precision GPS stations across the disturbed area. Results from the seismic monitoring should allow us to track the presence and movement of hydrothermal fluids, while the GPS data should indicate if ground deformation accompanied seismic or hydrothermal activity. Together with ancillary temperature and fluid flow data by the NPS, this information will help identify the size and location of the source of hydrothermal related deformation. We hope to track the progress of the disturbance to better understand the hydrothermal and tectonic processes involved and to capture any hydrothermal eruption, should one occur.
