AB: The PAN Intercomparison Exercise (PIE) took place during two weeks in June and July 2005 on the Enchanted Mesa in Boulder, Colorado. An international group of scientists representing eight instruments using five different detection techniques measured PAN and, in some cases, other PAN homologues simultaneously from a common sampling manifold. Ambient air, as well as standard mixtures, at times spiked with potential interferents, at different humidity levels was sampled. The results showed generally good agreement between the different techniques and will be discussed in detail in this presentation.
