AB: Cloudsat will provide the first measurements from a space borne millimeter radar, allowing for the first time an ability to comprehensively document the occurrence of cloud vertically on a global basis. In addition, Cloudsat will also fly in tandem with several other satellites, and we will make routine comparisons with MODIS cloud mask results. We will present initial results of the vertical structure of cloud occurrence in various climatological regimes will be examined using the first weeks of cloudsat data.
