The chemical composition of aerosols(SO4-2, NO3-, NH4+) and the concentrations of trace
gases(O3, CO, NO, SO2, H2O2) were measured at Gosan in Jeju Island, Korea, during March 5 to 29, as a
part of the Atmospheric Brown Clouds-East Asian Regional Experiment 2005 (ABC-EAREX 2005).
In general, photochemical
byproducts such as O3 and H2O2 remained low. Partially, H2O2 concentrations frequently fell below
detection limit. During the campaign, westerly prevailed in Jeju Island and two dust events were observed. Upon dust
incidents, the concentrations of trace gases such as SO2, NO, CO and aerosols were rapidly increased. Also, the ratio of
nss-SO4 to SO2 was found to be related to dust outbreaks and H2O2 concentrations. Detailed discussion
