The first deployment of a dual quantum cascade laser based instrument will be discussed. Following a short discussion of
the instrumental details, a preliminary analysis of the urban outflow measurements will be presented with an emphasis on
understanding the observed HCHO to CO and HCHO to CH3CHO ratios. The observed content of formic acid (HCOOH) in an
aged biomass burning plume is somewhat greater than that typically measured in fresh plumes. The potential mechanisms of
HCOOH production from other hydrocarbons will be discussed. The elevated levels of HCHO observed during an isoprene
oxidation event will also be presented.
