The aim of this work is to study some properties of continuing currents and M-components in natural lightning by means of a
high speed camera. The literature presents similar studies using only direct measurements of the channel base current in
triggered-lightning flashes and remote electric field measurements of close natural discharges. In this work we analyze the
waveform of the continuing currents and obtain parameters of the M-components associated. For this purpose, we developed a
computational algorithm using IDL that analyses the pixels of the images obtained by the high-speed camera and plots a graph
showing luminosity versus time. As the luminosity in the channel is directly proportional to the current of the lightning,
some statistics are done in terms of continuing current waveform types and M-component occurrence.
