Electrical discharge surface arcing was observed between the plasma and the inner surface of a plasma discharge device.
Frequent random arcing was generated when a typical anode double layer was expanded in size to fill the chamber producing a
relatively high plasma potential between the plasma and the inner surface of the grounded chamber. The arcs were recorded and
analyzed using various methods to help determine the nature and frequency of arc formation. The formation, frequency, and
potential of the arcs were seen to depend on the plasma neutral argon gas pressure and the plasma potential.
