TI: Arctic Oscillation Induced Warming and Terrestrial Responses

AB: We use a simplified land surface and vegetation dynamics model to investigate the response of the Eurasian boreal region to continued warming through a continued trend in the Arctic Oscillation (AO). The primary period of influence for the AO is winter and spring, and thus the response of the system to warming during this period may be distinctly different from across season secular warming (i.e., anthropgenica global warming). This preliminary work serves as stepping stone towards a fully integrated investigation of interactions and feedbacks between climate, ecosystem processes (vegetation dynamics, carbon cycling), and the terrestrial cryosphere (permafrost, snow cover).
