Large-eddy simulation (LES) of turbulent flow above and within plant canopies over a hill are performed. Comparisons are
made with wind tunnel measurements and LES of flow over hills with un-resolved roughness. The interplay between pressure
drag induced by the hill and the vegetation and their influence on flow separation and scalar transport will be discussed.
