As part of a new project that is assessing decadal time scale changes in ecosystem structure and function throughout the
Beringia region, multiple sites in Chukotka were visited on the Swedish lead Beringia 2005 Expedition. At each site, CO2
flux, CH4 flux, and hyperspectral reflectance were measured and samples for estimating plant biomass were collected. This
study reports findings on the relationship between these variables for sites visited in 2005. It is intended that this study
will be combined with a land cover change assessment in the future to assess the probable change in Carbon fixing potential
at each site in the region.
