AB: A project called the Space Weather Weekend 2005 was held on April 22-24, 2005, at Alabama A&M University, in Huntsville, Alabama. It was a joint project between several institutions funded by the Center for Integrated Space Weather Modeling, including Boston University, Alabama A&M University, and the Florida Institute of Technology. Over the two day event, nine students and one faculty member from seven Minority-Serving Institutions attended. Among the objectives of the Space Weather Weekend were: providing a brief but thorough overview of space weather research to interested students, giving the students hands-on experiences with realistic computer models, and dealing with students' questions and concerns about graduate studies in Space Physics, with emphasis on CISM institutions. This presentation will provide an overview of the components of the Space Weather Weekend 2005, and an initial assesment of the impact on the participants.
